Today we’re bidding a fond farewell to our T-Level trio from Runshaw College – Lucy, Jessica, and Matthew. Over the past week, they’ve been diving headfirst into the world of manufacturing and design! We suspect they can now spot a micron-sized defect from space!

Lucy and Jessica put their CAD skills to the test by designing a metal waste bin using Autodesk Inventor. Meanwhile, Matthew took on the challenge of creating a new swarf bin. We’re still debating whether to patent their designs!

Their choice of Lyndhurst for their placement was clear: our strong manufacturing background and the opportunity to experience the entire product lifecycle – from initial concept through design, manufacturing, and final inspection.

This was a return visit, and we’re already looking forward to their return in September for a two-week block. We can’t wait to see what other innovative designs they’ll come up with to improve our ways of working!
